Our schoolboy sides in Maree/Oranmore fc kicked off this past weekend and made excellent starts to the season.

The u13 Premier side hosted Athenry fc in the season opener and came away with a fine win with goals from Mike Grealy (3),Eanna Costello,Colm Whelan and a Daniel Keady penalty.

The u15 Premier Boys travelled to Drom to face Salthill Devon and came away with a very fine 3-0 victory with goals courtesy of Gavin Smyth,Fintan O Regan and Ben Costelloe.A fine start for Kevin Costelloe and Trevor Quinns charges.

The u13 Div 1 side under the stewardship of Gary Loughlin played in an end to end game against Merlin Woods fc/Medtronic in Oranmore but went down narrowly 5-4 after leading on several occasions.Exciting stuff with goals courtesy of Ciaran Mc Donagh,Cian Geraghty,Cillian Cannon and Alexander Koman.

Another exciting game was the visit of West Coast Utd at u15 Div 2 level with the Connemara side emerging victorious on a 5-3 scoreline with goals from Seamie Fallon (2) and James Donovan.

Maree/Oranmore fc would like to congratulate Donal Higgins from Ballinacourty Hill who made his Senior League of Ireland Debut last Friday night for Galway Utd in their away League tie in Ballybofey against Finn Harps.Higgins aged 16 years has played all his club football with our community based club Maree/Oranmore fc.

Our Academy sides (u6 to u10 Boys and Girls) will commence Training in Oranmore very shortly.Details will be posted on our club facebook page.However for all our age groups from u6 up to adult you must register by downloading the Clubify App.

Our adult Premier side were held to a 1-1 draw by Loughrea in Loughrea last Wednesday night with Eoghan Mc Donagh netting for Don O Riordans charges.On Sunday last they hosted ambitous Salthill Devon,despite taking the lead through Peter Greaney,the Devon lads upped the ante and won out on a 3-1 scoreline.Next up is a league tie Sunday morning v Galway Bohs in Millars Lane.We wish them well.

This week and weekend will see two of our u12 sides,Both u14 sides and our u18 Premier Boys sides in action.Midweek sees our girls at u12,u14,u16 and u18 in Competitive action.For all club details visit our club facebook page.
