U12 Girls Cup Final

In our first Cup Final of the season, the u12 girls came agonisingly close in Eamonn Deacy Park on Sunday last but they lost out 4-3 on penalties after it finished scoreless after extra time against Craughwell Utd. It was a game the Maree/Oranmore fc girls dominated but Lady Luck deserted them. The penalties were finished by Emer Brosnahan, Caitlin Hanniffy and Keelin Bradley. A special word of thanks to Alan Carr of Keanes Oranmore who sponsored fine Training Tops for the u12 girls. The girls can bounce back in League action on Sunday when they host Colga fc.

Juniors

The adult Premier side moved into fifth position by easing past a gallant but depleted Galway Bohemians side in a League encounter in Oranmore on Sunday last. There were strong displays in particular from Malachy Black and the inform Brendan Tully with Chris o Dowd notching three while David Devlin, Neil Greaney, Kenneth McStay and the aforementioned Black adding to the tally.

League Action

The u17/u18 Div 2 side had a comfortable home win against Moyne Villa with the scorers including Jason Meehan, Mark Mullins and David Asjsafe, however the serious hip injury to keeper Eric Landers was a blow to this side. We wish Eric a speedy recovery.

The u16 Premier Boys side maintained their unbeaten League run and top of the table position with an excellent 2-1 home victory to Galway Hibernians on Sunday. This was an excellent performance against strong opposition who took a first half lead but two fine goals from Conal Doyle and an excellent winner from Daniel Cahalane secured an impressive win. There were fine performances all over the park with James Harrisson, James Whelan, Ciaran Black and Fearghal Carr when introduced impressing. The scoreline could have been higher with Cian Horgan, Ciaran Black coming close in the opening period. We wish a speedy recovery to Cian Horgan who picked up a nasty knee injury.

The u14 Premier side had an off day on Saturday last when they went down to a physically strong and impressive Tuam Celtic side on a 2-0 scoreline on Saturday last but Tom Reddingtons u14 div 2 side had a fine 2-1 victory against Athenry fc at home to maintain their top position in the League with goals courtesy of Aiden Allan and Luke O Connor.

The u12 Premier League continued their recent good form with an excellent 2-1 away League victory to Salthill Devon in Drom with goals courtesy of Jack Leahy and Charlie Healy. The u12 championship side had a fine 3-1 away win in Fahys Field against Mervue with goals arriving from Cian Quirke, Daragh Mill and Alexander Szoska while in the u12 div 1 and 2 cup Maree/Oranmore fc defeated Knocknacarra fc 3-0 in Cappagh Park with goals from Cillian Costello, Jonathan Smith and Kian Dooley. The u12 div 2 side went down in the Cup to a strong Moyne Villa side with Liam O Donnell netting.
