Adult League Update

If  it was excitement you wanted last weekend, the final equalising strike for Declan O Dea for our Adult Premier side and Daniel Keadys third goal v Tuam Celtic were top calibre for two of our Maree/Oranmore fc club sides last Saturday afternoon in Oranmore.

The adult Premier side with a much improved performance drew 2-2 against a strong physical Loughrea side with the opener from Chris O Dowd and the equaliser a sublime finish from O Dea.This Sunday the lads play a six pointer away to St Bernards Utd at 11am in Abbeyknockmoy,we wish the lads well.

The adult Division 3 side moved into second place with an emphatic 8-2 away win against Kilshanvey Utd with the goals courtesy of a brace from Oisin Lyons and Alan Barrett, three from Steve Matthews and a Dara Murphy strike in a fine team performance from Hugh O Neills charges.

Schoolboys

At schoolboy level our u14 Premier lads played a home 3-3 draw against a fine Tuam Celtic side with Daniel Keady neeting all three in a thrilling game.It was heartbreak for the u12 Premier Lads who conceeded a solitary goal three minutes from time to go down 1-0 to Mervue in the League. These lads play the SFAI Regional semi final This Saturday v Athenry fc ko 10.30am.

The u12 Division two side had a fine 6-1 League away win v Colga fc in Clarenbridge with a man of the match performance from Tom Furlong who netted three with the other goals arriving from Miguel Tully Ruiz,an og and from James Kelly.Meanwhile the u12 Div 5 side defeated Salthill Devon 8-2 in Maree with braces each from Brian Mc Grath,Adam Fahy,Rory Leahy and single finishes from Dylan Keohane and Dylan Scarry.

Stormy weather on Sunday forced the cancellation of our u18b side who were to travel to Drom to play Salthill Devon B.Maree/Oranmore fc are hoping to field a social over 35s side in the local over 35s Leagues which commence in May 2020,this is designed for former players who might also be interested in helping their local club in the process. This squad will be self sufficient with the players sharing the costs involved eg insurance, pitch hire, gear etc and playing their football in a social, non competitive environment environment. As a club we will probably need at least 20 players, expressions of interest to Jonathan on 086 8875500 or email jfitzpatrick@totalproduce.com
