A very busy weekend for local community based soccer club Maree/Oranmore fc kindly sponsored by the Galway Clinic. The u12 Premier and u13 Premier sides will be very happy with their wins. The u12 Premier side defeated Salthill Devon 3-1 on Sunday morning last in Oranmore in a fine team performance with goals from Dylan Smyth, James Molloy and Yassin Abdelmagied, while the u13 Premier side had a hard earned 2-1 away win to Knocknacarra fc with goals courtesy of Rian Donohue and Conor Goodwin. It was a good weekend for all three club u13 sides with all emerging victorious, the u13b side defeated Corrib Rangers 2-0 in Westside with the goals arriving from Tom Furlong and Brian Mc Grath, while the u13c side played on The New Maree 4g on Saturday and comfortably beat Corofin Utd B with the scorers including a James Mc Cormack hat trick. The u15 boys sides had little luck except for the u15 div 2 lads, the u15 Premier side went down 2-0 to an excellent Knocknacarra fc side away while the u15 div 1 side travelled to Carraroe to play Macdara only to see them go down 5-3 with Ciaran Mc Donagh notching a brace and a finish from David Winiewski. The u15 div 2 boys defeated Athenry B 3-1 with the all important strikes from Cian Quirke and a brace from Oisin Stack.  The u17 boys will wonder how they went down 1-0 to Salthill Devon on Sunday last having dominated for large periods playing well but an inability to convert chances created was their downfall but the team performance was certainly impressive.  It was a great Sunday for our girls sides assisted by OranPrecast with the u12,u13 and u17 sides all emerging victorius, the u17 girls defeated Moyne Villa on Sunday in a thrilling 5-4 game on new Maree 4g pitch with Nicole Duffy(2), Shauna Byrne(2) and Emma Burke all netting. The u13 girls also hosted Moyne Villa and they emerged with a well merited 2-0 win with Hannah Furey and Sheenagh O Donnell getting on the scoresheet. The u12 Hawks girls had a very comfortable win against Craughwell Utd in their first League match of the season. Well done to Lily Raftery,Ani Lisantri and Labhaoise Keane on their fine debuts and to Emma Burke on her first League hattrick.

Our club last Thursday gave the keys of our new 4g pitch facility so the students of Maree National school could avail of this facility at no cost, we would like to thank Principal Lisa Kilkelly and indeed all other school Principals of all local schools for their letters of support for our pitch project for the youth of Maree and Oranmore.

Thanks most sincerely to local businesspeople Cyril and Sharon Mc Cluskey of Right Price Tiles and Wood flooring for his generous sponsorship of our new pitch dugouts their daughter Sarah plays with our u13 girls side. Thanks to Right Price Tiles.

Also pictured in the past week visiting our new all weather 4G facility is Phil Grealish of St Columbas Credit Union receiving flowers from u12 girls team member Katie Quirke in recognition of her support for our community based club.
