The AGM of our local community soccer club Maree/Oranmore fc took place last wednesday in Oranmore Public Library. The past very successful season was reviewed and The outgoing Chaiman,Treasurer and Secretarys Reports were presented to those in attendance.

Our new club Chairperson for the forthcoming season is the likeable Isle of Man native and Mweloon,Maree resident David Watterson. David has worked very hard for the past number of years and replaces the outgoing Alan Ahearne.

All outgoing officers were thanked for their contribution over the past season.Of concern at the meeting were the inability at this point to appoint a club Hon secretary and HonTreasurer  prior to the new season. Thanks to John Lawlor for his assistance in making the Libary available and accomodating us. All other positions were filled as follows:

Chairperson:David Watterson

Club Registrar:Paul Tucker

Club Asst Treasurer:Sean Horsman,

Club Asst Secretary,Competitive Boys League Officer and P.R.O/Marketing:  Martin Horgan

Girls Officers:Tony Jordan and Triona Brosnahan

Academy Boys Officers: John Cormican and David Watterson.

Equipment/Gear Officer: Domnic Delany

Facilities Development Officer:Derek Conneely,

Junior Mens Coordinator: Tomas Reddington.

It is hoped that Stuart Mc Camley and Fergus Kelleher will also be involved as their contributions have been immense over the past number of seasons.

Finally best wishes to Chrissie Quirke of Maree who is recovering after her recent very serious illness. Our club extends sympathies to the family of John James Furey of Frenchfort who passed away recently.

Well done to Gearoid Mc Inerney and Niall Burke on their Leinster Hurling Final success and to Jim Crowley who is doing well with the Galway minor footballers.
