Juniors to begin Season this weekend
The season is about to commence for our adult Premier Mens side this weekend with our older competitive boys sides due to commence on Saturday September 2nd. This Sunday our recently promoted mens side play their opening Premier League game when they t ravel to take on Loughrea Rams FC with a 2pm kick off in Loughrea. This is followed by a second Premier League game on Thursday 31st at 6.30pm when the lads face Galway Hibernians in Oranmore. Preseason Training has gone well for Emlynn Longs charges and our community club are hopeful our Premier League position will be consolidated. Peter Campion(Creganna) and Mark Tully(Ashbrook) will once more assist with our Premier and Reserve League mens sides.
Registration
Registration for u11 to u17/u18 boys and our two adult mens sides is now open. This season you simply download an app to your phone called CLUBIFY. Registration and club news/fixtures/results will all be accessible via the app and our younger players can keep up to date using this valuable mechanism. All our competitive boys teams and our two mens sides are back training. For details of training please consult our club facebook page.
New Coach - Ger Curran
Our club are delighted that Ger Curran of the Galway High Performance Academy will be assisting our club this season working alongside our club Director of Coaching Mike Quirke from Mweelon in Maree working with a variety of club coaches and teams. Ger amongst other roles will be looking after our u12 Boys Premier team assisted by the excellent Mike Daly (Derrydonnell), Kieran Blake (Maree) and Brian Geraghty (Renville). An excellent coach, Ger is welcome on board. Our goalkeeping coach once more will be Alan Mc Nevin.
New Club Gear
Club shorts, socks and training gear are now available in Mc Inerneys of the Orantown Centre. All club players must wear the correct kit at club competitive games or our club are fined by the League Authorities.
Members Draw
Our August Members Draw for a new 4g Pitch for the community took place on Saturday August 19th in the Maree Community Centre. Peter Kipper Murphy had the honour of picking the balls from the drum. The winner was Mark Tully from Ashbrook, Oranmore, second prize went to Kieran O Connell from Clochog, Oranmore and third prize went to Colin Thornton c/o Arlington House, Oranmore. More Volunteers needed
