The snowy weather played spoilsport to all Maree/Oranmore fc club fixtures and to sporting events throughout the country this past weekend.
This coming weekend sees a full schedule of club fixtures due with a plethora of club sides in action.The u18s who have reached the FAI Youths Quarter Final travel to Tramore in Waterford this Sunday to face traditional kingpins Tramore afc in a tough encounter,our best wishes to all the squad and management.
Both u13 boys sides play in Oranmore in League action this Saturday,The Premier side host Knocknacarra fc while the championship side are in action against Bearna Na Forbacha Aontaithe.The u15 Premier lads face Kilshanvey utd at home,meanwhile the u12 boys face Castlebar Celtic in the u12 Connacht Cup Quarter Final at 2pm in Oranmore.
On Sunday next the adult mens A side are in Michael Byrne Cup action away to Mervue while in the u16 Div 1 cup Mike Burkes charges host our neighbours Colga fc while in the u14 Galway Girls Cup Eoin Cotters girls entertain Moyne Villa.
During the past weekend our club held a snowman photo with club kit competition,many many entries were received some of whom can be viewed on our club facebook page. Congratulations to our voucher winner namely Ben Costelloe of our u14 Premier squad,certainly some of the snowmen presentations were of top standard.
Maree/Oranmore fc would like to sincerely sympathise with Jo and Denis Cahalane on the sad passing of Jos dad James O Leary in Kilfinnane ,Co Limerick.The Cahalanes have always been very strong supporters of our community club and their sons James and Daniel are invaluable club players.Jo is also the secretary of Naomh Mhuire Ladies Football club.Our thoughts are with Jos extended family at this sad time.
