A busy Easter Saturday last for our local community based soccer club Maree/Oranmore fc kindly sponsored by The Galway Clinic.
The u12 Premier side had a hard earned 2-1 away win against Craughwell Utd with Eanna Costello and an og separating the sides in a close keen encounter ,these lads play their Connacht Cup semi final this coming Sunday.
The u12 Division 1 side conceeded a late late goal and missed a penalty in a 1-1 draw against Kilshanvey Utd in Kilconly with Barry Keating netting.
Fionn Stapletons u12 Division 2 side had a hard earned 2-1 victory away to Moyne Villa in Headfors with Harry Gilbert getting a brace.
The u14 Division 2 side moved into 3rd place in the table with a fine 2-0 victory against Knocknacarra fc in Cappagh Park with the goals coming from James Donovan and Krystian Kowaczyk.
The adult reserve team managed by Cormac Kennedy drew 2-2 with Tuam Celtic away with goals arriving from Chris O Dowd and Matt Roche in a keenly contested game at the North Galway venue.
The u17/u18 Division 1 boys played an enjoyable friendly game last Saturday morning in Annaghdown against Corrib Celtic from the championship division. Jack Grealish will be happy as he netted three in a strong performance for the lads who are fighting for League honours like our u18 Premier side who also top their division.Thanks to Jack Barrett of Corrib Celtic for his help.
Our March members Development draw took place last Saturday afternoon with our u10 boys drawing the winners of our excellent cash prizes, 1st prize was Catherine Costello, 2nd was Colin Thornton while 3rd was Ronan Hession.

Maree/Oranmore fc would loke to sincerely thank Rob Duffy of Applegreen on the Tuam Rd in Galway for sponsoring Training Tops for both of our Youths Squads. Rob was one of the founders of the game with the late great Brendan Carney when the game locally was in its infancy. Thank you Rob from all in our club.
At present there are 48 remaining in our clubs last man standing competition for a jackpot of 1000 euro.
The St Columbas Invitational Tournament continues this Sunday April 8th for u9 and u10 boys sides.The Family/Finals Day takes place on Sunday April 22nd with an attendance of over 5000 expected in Oranmore village as a plethora of local clubs and beyond play with the emphasis on enjoyment and player development.
