The Maree/Oranmore fc members Draw for May took place last Wednesday to coincide with the presentation of u12 Premier Trophy and medals by acting Galway FA chair Tom Trill. First prize went to Emily and Fergus Kelliher,Second prize went to Enda Gallagher and Third prize to Kieran Blake.
The 2 tickets to the fortcoming Ireland v U.S.A International went to Rita Healy Mc Laughlin while Mark Tully won 2 tickets to an evening with Martin O Neill and Roy Keane in the Aviva Stadium. On the field of play the u14 div 2 side wrapped up their season with two home wins 3-1 against Oughterard afc and 2-1 against Kinvara Utd to complete a fine season. The u14 Premier side were held to a 1-1 draw against Salthill Devon with Ben Burke netting while the u12 championship side were held to a scoreless draw in Maree against Kiltullagh Pioneers to complete their season.
The u12 Premier side who play Westport Utd on Bank Holiday Monday in the sfai Regional Final finished their League campaign with a 1-1 draw against Athenry fc with Colm Whelan scoring in Oranmore late last week.
Our club will field 3 teams in the Kevin Power u11 Cup on next Sunday in Eamonn Deacy park while 3 teams will be entered also in the u10 Galway Cup on next Monday June 4th also at the same excellent venue.
Renowned Cross Channel Coach Jason Blunt will again be working with a variety of club teams and Coaches this weekend in Oranmore and Maree with a full schedule posted on our club facebook page.
Our AGM will be held in late June,unless more help is received in the running of the club,there will be a scaling back of club activities which would be a regret in a club of over 600 members.
