Juniors Opening Match
The opening Adult Premier League game took place in breezy, wet conditions in Maree last Sunday afternoon. Bouyed up by a plethora of former League of Ireland players Mervue won 4-1 in a closer game than this result suggests. An excellent second half performance gives solid hope for Don O Riordans charges who face Loughrea Rams fc away in Loughrea this Wednesday night. The scorer on Sunday was Pete Greaney and a Maree/Oranmore fc penalty hit the post. The Premier adult side have shown themselves to be gutsy and determined and are hopeful of building on last years progress.
Girls Director of Coaching
Maree/Oranmore fc are delighted to announce the appointment of Roisin Jacob as our new Girls Director of Coaching kindly sponsored by Oran Precast. Roisin has a wealth of experience at National League Level with Galway Womens fc and at club and schools level and the former Calasanctius College Oranmore student will be of massive benefit especially for our competitive girls sides whose development is one of our clubs top priorities. We would ask that all girls from u6 to u18 in our community should register now to train and play for our restructured girls section. A special word of thanks to Oran Precast for their financial assistance for this programme.
Upcoming Matches
This weekend sees a variety of our boys sides at u13, u15 and u17/u18 in action as we commence our schoolboy soccer season.
