Generally a very productive weekend for our local Galway Clinic sponsored community club Maree/Oranmore fc.
The u15s advanced comfortably in Ballisodare, Co Sligo in the SFAI u15 cup with a comfortable win against Ballisodare Utd with Ben Costelloe notching three while Gavin Smyth and Tom Delany also among the scorers. The U13 Premier Boys continued their fine start to the season with a well merited 4-0 win away to a gallant Knocknacarra fc side with goals courtesy of Eanna Costello, Mike Grealy, Colm Whelan and an og.
The u13 Div 1 side played well against Moyne Villa had lots of chances but went down 2-1 in a game they dominated last Saturday in Oranmore. Ben Trainor got the goal. Meanwhile the u15 div 2 side went down to Colemanstown Utd also on Saturday despite a brace from Christian Kowacyzk.
Both club u18 sides were in League action on Sunday last, the u18 Division 2 side defeated Kinvara Utd 4-2 away with Luke Lally and Mark Shivnan among the goalscorers. The u18 Premier side will be a little disappointed with a 3-3 away draw to a stubborn and determined Athenry fc side.Despite leading three times in the game and dominating the first half a direct Athenry side worked hard for the point. The goalscorers on Sunday were Ben Wright, Princewell Diala and Eoin Lyons.
