Maree/Oranmore fc our voluntarily run community based soccer club would like to wish all a very happy new year.
Bag Packing
On Christmas eve over 40 club volunteers assisted with club bag packing coordinated by Mike Quirke and David Watterson in Dunnes Stores in Briarhill. Thanks also to Ann Marie and Paul for their help and to the generous shoppers.
Development Draw
Our club are hopeful that 2019 will see the start of construction of our new 4g pitch in Maree which will need Government and FAI assistance through sports capital funding. To assist the project we are very appreciative of the support we are receiving from club families through our Members Development Draw. Over 100 Club Families are currently contributing just €20 per month for their child's future but we need more support.
This video has been created to show the clubs future plans. You can help build our field of dreams for your kids. Contact Fergus for details on 087 2457626

Club Progress
As this point in the season generally reflects the half way point with our club competing at Premier League or A football in all age groups and we are delighted that several of our club teams presently top their respective divisions. The continued growth in numbers is reflected in the fact that our club now fields 6 u12 boys sides to cater for all all ability levels while the newly formed u21 side is really impressing. The growth of the girls game has been very impressive while the recently introduced Football For All Programme is going from strength to strength. Club membership now stands at an all time high of 640 members which represents a truly inclusive club.
Last Man Standing
Our Club Last Man Standing is now down to 2 players namely Cathal Mullins and Michelle Loftus,we wish them well in their head to head battle to win the Thousand euro top prize. Our club will run another Last Man Standing Competition shortly. Great credit goes to Brian Geraghty and Tony Jordan for their excellent organisation.

The season resumes this weekend with our u12 and u16 Premier sides both in Connacht Cup action while the u12 div 1 and div 3 sides have League encounters alongside our u14 div 2 lads. The u18 girls play Corrib Celtic in League action in Annaghdown on Sunday next.
