Maree/Oranmore fc would like to thank all 40 volunteers who assisted in our Christmas Eve Bagpacking in Dunnes Stores Briarhill. Thanks to Ann Marie, Paul and all the staff and customers for their courtesy and support. Well done to all involved in the production of Robin Hood in Kilcornan over the past week. An excellent and very enjoyable production.
League Action
On the playing front there were mixed results on the playing pitches this past weekend. Two u12 sides emerged victorious in League encounters. The u12 Div 1 boys side had a comfortable home win against a brave Corrib Rangers side with the goalscorers including Conor Goodwin (3), Cillian Costello (2), Darragh Costello (2), Rian Donohue (2) and Gus Lohan. The u12 Div 3 side had a very fine 2-1 victory away to Corofin Utd with Cian Cusack and Kian Kirrane netting. There were also good performances from Mark Kelly in goals and Jack Mc Gann.
The u14 Div 2 side continued their good run on Saturday away to Cregmore/Claregalway and they came away with a hard earned 2-1 win with Krystan Kowjack netting twice,one from a free and the other from a spot kick.
Connacht Cup
The u12 premier side were pipped in extra time by Athenry fc in The Connacht Cup on an extra time score of 2-1.Jack Raftery scored in an excellent encounter.
The u16 lads went down away in the Connacht Cup to an excellent Athenry fc side. Goals from James Whelan and Tom Delany were not enough in a keenly contested game.
Fixtures
Next weekend sees both u18 boys sides out as well as both u15 boys sides, The adult Premier team play Merlin Woods/Medtronic away on Sunday while on Saturday both boys u13 sides play.
Sunday sees our u12 girls in Cup action.
Members Development Draw
The winner of our December members Development Draw was Wally Walsh from Ashbrook, Oranmore. 2nd was Deirdre O Rourke Brennan from Maree and in 3rd place was Jacinta Greene from Derrydonnell, Oranmore.

Our Academy age groups (u6 to u10 boys and girls) return to training next Saturday Jan 12th at normal times.
