The Club Members Development Draw for February took place at girls Academy Training on Saturday last. The First Prize of 200 euro went to Tom and Claire Reddington, Second Prize of 100 euro went to Maria Fallon and Brendan Carroll got the 3rd prize. Thanks to all for their continued support. Well done to u18 club player Alan Greene for his selection on the Irish Home based u18 squad for a series of games v Wales this week on Tuesday 26th and Thursday 28th ,both games played in Wales.Alan is a key part of our minor squad and has played with Maree/Oranmore fc since his u6 days.Our club are greatly honoured.
The St Columba's Credit Union Invitational Tournament continued on Sunday last for u9 and u10 club sides with large crowds in attendance.
Juniors
The adult Premier side moved into third place in the top tier with an excellent 1-0 home victory against Galway City based West Utd with Neil Greaney getting a crucial second half strike in a performance that showed real character.
League Action
Theu17/u18 Premier squad had a comfortable 4-0 victory against a brave but depleted Tuam Celtic in a game where the Tuam custodian Ethan Fahy was outstanding. Goals from Alex Fearon, Adam Lally, Darragh O Connor and Caden Okuguni secured all three points and puts Maree/Oranmore fc in the shake up.
The u16 girls were a little depleted on Sunday and went down 2-0 at home to Cregmore/Claregalway. There were good performances from Chloe Mooney, Sophie Byrnes, Aoibhe Lohan, Anna Cotter and the excellent Nicole Duffy.
The u12 girls continued their good League run with a fine 4-0 win on Sunday against Colga fc B. The goalscorers were a brace from Grace Mc Anespie and strikes from Emer Brosnahan and Caitlin Hanniffy.
In other League action Gary Loughlins u13 division 1 side had a well merited 2-0 away win to St Bernards with Ben Trainor and Niall Fallon doing the damage
Cup Action
Without doubt the performance of the weekend came from the clubs u14 boys side managed by Noel Carroll,Barry Goodwin and Kevin Costelloe when the lads progressed to the National Quarter finals after defeating Douglas Hall from Cork City on a 1-0 scoreline in extra time. The priceless goal came from Ben Costelloe in an excellent squad performance. The lads play Ringmahon Rangers in the Irish Quarter final again in Cork. This is a marvellous achievement from a very hard working group of lads and coaches.
The u12 div 3 boys side went down 2-0 to Colemanstown Utd in the Cup in Maree in a close game. Good performances from Jack McCarthy in goals with strong performances in the back line from Mark Kelly, Tom Furlong and Jack McGann.
Upcoming Fixtures
Next Sunday sees the FAI U17 Quarter Final come to Oranmore when our u17s host St Kevins Boys from Dublin with a 2pm kick off as well as a plethora of other club sides in competitive action.
