This weekend sees the opening salvo of games in the new Galway and District League season for 2020/21 with a plethora of Maree/Oranmore fc sides, both girls and boys playing competitive games across the city and county. This Saturday, Sept 12th also marks the commencement of our Academy (u6 to u10 boys and girls) training on the new Maree 4g pitch.The u6 to u10 girls are on from 12 to 1pm,boys u6,u7 and u8 are on from 1pm to 2pm while u9 and u10 boys commence at 2pm and will finish at 3pm. In competitive football our Adult Div 3 side will play their opener away to East Utd next Saturday while both u16 teams play Cregmore/Claregalway and Cois Fharraige. Our u14 Premier Boys host Salthill Devon while the Championship side are away to Corofin Utd. The Girls competitive section has also grown substantially and this weekend our u12,u15 and u19 girls sides are in action against Mervue,Cregmore/Claregalway and Craughwell Utd. Parents are reminded to complete registration asap as after registration that there is some admin work required with GFA for eligibility to play. Our club registrar Brian Geraghty has been busy with preparatory work for the new season.

Well done to Ben Costelloe who recently signed for Limerick FC in the u17 Airtricity League. Ben's dad, Limerick native Kevin, has coached for many years with our club. On completion of his tenure in Limerick, Ben is very welcome back to his own club.
